Love's Tarot Journal Entry:
My family, our heritage, and the traumas we have passed on through our DNA brings to mind the Ace of Pentacles. This card represents a single cell, where all family members begin. Then, it splits into two. It all begins in our cells and in our DNA which gives birth to life, and traditions and carries on the memories of who we have become and who we are meant to be. My mother's side of the family is Amish. They have a long tradition of the homestead arts as well as strict structure and order. As a child, I would pull a chair up to the kitchen counter because even as child I had a passion for baking bread. My mother had no interest in baking bread but it was something that burned in me. My adult daughters are great bakers too. As a 5 year old standing on a chair to make bread must have been experiencing ancetral memories. Additionally, my mother used to grow vegetables in our suburban backyard in tiny little spaces. I love the magic of watching things grow. One of my adult daughters has a goal to buy land so she and her partner can garden, raise chickens and goats, etc. However, on the other side of the Coin is the tradition of neglecting, manipulating, and abandoning their children. They are left to fend for themselves while the family wolves eat them alive and then call it the right thing to do. These are all traditions that are a hard-wired set of beliefs and behaviors passed down through our family, for better or worse.
