The Hierophant V Healing Herb:
Palo Santo - purification, protection, spiritual connection, energy cleansing, meditation, transformation, sacred space, inner guidance, rituals
This fragrant wood that means "holy wood" in Spanish comes from the Palo Santo tree, native to South America, particularly in countries like Peru, Ecuador, and parts of Central America. Palo Santo has been used for centuries by indigenous peoples in these regions for its spiritual and healing properties. Palo Santo wood is light brown and has a sweet, woody fragrance with hints of citrus and mint. When burned, it releases a pleasant and calming scent that is often used for cleansing and purifying energy, both in physical spaces and the aura. Palo Santo is used to enhance meditation, prayer, and spiritual awareness. When it is used to remove negative or stagnant energy it allows for positive and fresh energy to flow. This is why many people use Palo Santo to create a protective energy barrier around themselves or their personal space. Palo Santo is typically used by lighting the wood and blowing out the flame. The smoldering wood produces fragrant smoke, which is wafted around a space, person, or object to cleanse and purify for spiritual rituals, energy work, meditation, and holistic healing practices. Palo Santo has gained popularity outside of its native regions due to its pleasing aroma and its reputation for spiritual and energetic benefits.
Love's Tarot Journal Entry:
It wasn't until years later that I learned why my husband suddenly became extra possessive, extra micromanaging of my time, easily angered, constantly arguing with me, having toxic explosive temper tantrums in front of our children and causing us to sneak away in the dark of the night. The Hierophant V in my life was when I surrendered to spirit to find a solution out of this dysfunctional life. I cleared off my dresser and built an altar of intention. I used colors, herbs, incense, crystals, and whatever else inspired me to support my intentions. This became my sacred space for tuning into my soul, meditation and journaling. This became my private church, my own personal ritual as I dug deep to find guidance and strength. Everyday, I performed the ritual that I had created for myself. Over the next several years I took many baby steps to change myself, fulfilling my goals, and getting myself and my growing children to a place of safety. Eventually, it came out that the unbearable toxic behavior I was getting from my husband was from his cheating. His secret destroyed our marriage and our family.
